Montreal’s CHANCES will release their debut album Traveler on April 27th. Listen to the band’s new single “Fire To Go” below. The band have also announced tour dates in support of the album. Full details below.
The band say “Fire To Go” is an anthem of resilience. “It’s an empowering break-up song that talks about taking a stand and resisting the temptation to let someone back into your life when you know it isn’t right. Right off the top, catchy synths hook you in, providing a sort of sonic liftoff. The soaring harmonies in the chorus translate the strength and willpower it takes to say no to someone you still love.”
It was in late 2016, that Montreal-based musicians Chloé Lacasse and Geneviève Toupin, both singer songwriters and pianists, along with drummer Vincent Carré, decided to come together to sketch out a few songs, just to see where uninhibited brainstorming might lead.
CHANCE’s unique sound is a blend of influences and cultures, mixing indie-pop with a hint of electro and world music, underscored by the english, francophone and Metis backgrounds present in the trio. With harmonies weaving in and out of thumping drums and sparkling synths.
