Singer Prince has died at his Paisley Park estate at the age of 57.
According to a report by TMZ, since confirmed to Associated Press by the singer’s representatives, the musician’s body was found early this morning (April 21st) at his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Police were earlier reported to be investigating a fatality at the estate, though the identity of the deceased was not revealed.
Recent reports claimed that the singer’s private jet was forced to make an emergency landing in Illinois on April 15th for health reasons. The next day, he appeared in concert. Sources close to Prince said he was battling flu.
Born Prince Rogers Nelson, the singer released 39 studio albums over a music career that lasted nearly 40 years. He rose to world fame in 1982 with the release of fifth album ‘1999’, and achieved worldwide success with his sixth, 1984’s ‘Purple Rain’. In 2015 he released two albums, ‘HITnRUN Phase One’ and ‘HITnRUN Phase Two’.
Prince was recently reported to be in the middle of writing his memoir, ‘The Beautiful Ones’.
